Communications Liaison in China Olympics

KerrCom founder and President Peter A. Kerr was invited to serve as the Chief Media Liaison Officer for all Outdoor Games in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.  Peter organized a team of 12 translators and countless workers to set up for outdoor games (marathons, speed walks, triathlons, bicycling events, etc.) and then hosted hundreds of media and thousands of spectators at each event.

One interesting complication in the Olympic Games was that the medal winners had to be escorted through a gauntlet of print and video media, then blood tested for drugs before being whisked away to stand on their platform and pay honors to the flags.  All this had to happen in under a half hour.
