Dr. Peter A Kerr - Founder & President

Dr. Peter A. Kerr is the founder and President of KerrCommunications LLC, providing elite communications training to select clients since 2004. He is also the Dean of the School of Business and Leadership at CCU, and holds degrees from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Engineering and Leadership, a Master of Arts in Communications from the University of Washington, and a PhD in Business Administration with emphases in Leadership and International Business from Northcentral University.

Peter’s professional experiences include being Director (Chair) of Communications at Asbury University, Senior Director over 120 faculty and 18 regional campuses for SEU, and teaching Group Communications as adjunct faculty at the University of Kentucky. He was the Chief Media Liaison Officer for all Outdoor Games in Beijing for the 2008 Olympic Games, was the primary media trainer and crisis planner for the 2010 World Equestrian Games, and is the author of many articles and books. His main specialty areas are media training, crisis planning, marketing, public relations, intercultural relations, group communications, leadership, public speaking, networking, gender relations, integrity inculcation, and he is an accomplished motivational speaker.

As a consultant and media relations professional, Peter worked with multifarious international media outlets (ABC, CBS, FOX, BBC, New York Times, London Times, Der Spiegel, Aljazeera, etc.), and was in charge of all media relations in D.C. during the 2004 Ronald Reagan State Funeral. As an Air Force officer at the Pentagon, Peter explained the $110 billion Air Force budget to the DC press corps, media trained senior military leaders and White House officials, was a Foreign Area Officer (European specialist), and deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) to Qatar, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Having traveled extensively to more than 50 countries on six continents, Peter has studied ten languages and still speaks a few of them well. He enjoys reading about history, international relations, business, philosophy, and quantum physics, and likes to play strategy games and travel with his wife Rebecca and their four children.
