Dr. Peter A. Kerr ~ Brief Biography

Peter A. Kerr is founder and President of KerrComm, providing world-class training for media engagement, public relations, marketing, crisis planning, public speaking, intercultural communications training and leadership improvement.  He is also the Dean of the School of Business and Leadership at CCU. He holds a B.S. in Human Factors Engineering and Human Behavior/Leadership from the U.S. Air Force Academy, a Master of Arts in Communications from the University of Washington, an MDIV from ATS, and a PhD in Business Administration (emphases in Leadership and International Business) from Northcentral University.

Peter has worked with nearly every large national and international media outlet (CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, BBC, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, NPR, London Times, Der Spiegel, Aljazeera, etc.) and was responsible for all media relations in Washington D.C. during the 2004 Ronald Reagan State Funeral.  He led the Air Force media training team at the Pentagon for two years, and has media trained hundreds of leaders including White House officials, senior military generals, CEOs, non-profit leaders, pastors, communications directors, and various levels of politicians.  Peter also served as Chief Media Liaison Officer for Outdoor Events at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, and did crisis planning and management for the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington, KY.

Having traveled extensively to more than fifty countries on six continents, Peter speaks six languages at different levels of proficiency.  His experiences range from releasing the $110 billion Air Force budget to the DC press corps to arranging an airshow in Italy and negotiating with U.S. Embassies and foreign military leaders during a deployment to the war in Iraq.  As a consultant, he has established crisis management plans, trained CEOs and sales representatives, and taught customer service and intercultural skills to companies ranging from as small as 10 employees to multinational companies doing $1 billion of business annually.  He also speaks at many international symposiums and conferences every year, and enjoys giving of his skills by serving on boards and working with non-profits.

Peter has been published in the Journal of Mass Communication Quarterly, The Journal of Media and Religion, PRNEWS, and various other books and magazines mostly dealing with media relations and crisis management.  His first full book Adam Meets Eve was published in 2013, and he has been awarded numerous writing and oratory honors.  In his private life, Peter enjoys many sports (especially soccer, racquetball, volleyball, and tennis), playing chess and other strategy games, and traveling with his wife and their four children.
